19th Annual TurtleFest at Loggerhead Marinelife Center

TurtleFest is back for its 19th year! Come celebrate over 40 years of ocean conservation and education at Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC). From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday, LMC, located at 14200 U.S. Highway 1 in Juno Beach, will be full of free family fun.

TurtleFest's Slide Over the Sea

TurtleFest, presented by Amazon, attracts more than 10,000 guests each year with its programs, according to the LMC media release.

Activities include:

  • Visiting LMC’s sea turtle patients
  • Shopping for crafts made by local artisans and vendors
  • Listening to live local music
  • Riding the “Slide Over the Sea” as seen to the right
  • Visiting the Junior Vet Lab
  • Enjoying craft beer and cocktails
  • And more

Additionally, Sailfish Brewing Company will unveil a new Hazy IPA that will give back to LMC with every purchase, according to the media release.

Parking information

While parking is not on-site, you can park at 700 Universe Blvd in along U.S. Highway 1 for TurtleFest, according to the media release. There are free shuttle buses that run every 15 minutes to and from the festival. Additionally, the Boys & Girls Club will also run a complimentary shuttle bus to and from the event for individuals in the areas of Belle Glade, South Bay and Pahokee. More about Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC)

Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) is located in Loggerhead Park, Juno Beach. It is a sea turtle research, rehabilitation, education and conservation center that also manages the Juno Beach Pier across the street, according to the media release.

LMC was established in 1983 and “seeks to promote conservation of ocean ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles,” according to the media release. LMC has multiple facilities, including “a sea turtle hospital, a research laboratory, and exhibit areas, including live sea turtles and other coastal creatures”. Additionally, it “has been named the third ‘Best Free Attraction’ in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards for 2023.”
