Get out and feel the breeze because Feb. 8 is National Kite-Flying Day! Here are some of the best places to fly a kite with your kiddos to celebrate.

Best places to fly a kite

Juno Beach

Juno Beach – more specifically Kite Beach, which is north of the Juno Beach pier – is a popular spot for kitesurfers, so it is perfect for National Kite-Flying Day. After flying your kite, you can hang out at the pier or check out the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. However, this spot tends to get crowded on windy days, so be cautious when partaking in kite-flying activities.

Jupiter Beach Park

This park is another great spot to celebrate this national day. You can fly your kite, go for a swim in the ocean and have a beach picnic. Be sure to gather all of your kite-flying materials before you leave the park to protect the sea life, especially the sea turtles.

Ocean Cay Park

After flying kites at Ocean Cay Park, your kids can play on the playground or enjoy the ocean. Like Jupiter Beach Park, make sure you don’t leave any part of your kite behind because it is dangerous to the sea turtles.

Jupiter Community Park

Here, you and your family can fly your kites in the fields of this 94-acre park! You can also enjoy a game of tennis or basketball.

Abacoa Community Park

Abacoa Community Park is another great place to celebrate National Kite-Flying Day. Set up a picnic near the playground and watch your kites fly high.
