If you are considering a Choice Program for your child, now is the time to decide! The School District of Palm Beach County (SDPBC) Choice Program application deadline is Jan. 26.

What is Choice?

SDPBC Choice Programs give families with students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade the chance to enroll in a program with a “theme-based curricula” taught by “specially trained teachers,” as explained on the SDPBC website. These programs allow students study and explore specific areas related to their talents and interests while also receiving a rigorous academic education.

Should my child apply for a Choice Program?

These programs are designed to prepare and pave a path to a student’s desired post-secondary career and education, according to the SDPBC website. Program focuses include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), dual language, environmental and animal science and more. Students may apply to any program regardless of school zoning, according to the SDPBC website.

A full list of Choice programs can be found here.

How do I apply?

Choice Program applications are online and can be found here. Although the application deadline for arts programs requiring an audition has passed, all other Choice Program applications will remain open until Jan. 26.

Choice applicants are selected through a lottery process that will be held March 28 with results available after 3 p.m. For more information, visit the SDPBC website, read the 2024-2025 Choice Booklet or email choicequestions@palmbeachschools.org.
