The ASCEND (Advancing STEM-Community Engagement through Neuroscience Discovery) NeuroExplorers program is a semester-long learning opportunity in Jupiter for kids grades 6-8 made possible by the Florida Atlantic University Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute.
Led by professional neuroscientists and their trainees and using cutting-edge educational tools, including hands-on virtual and augmented reality applications, kids will be provided bimonthly neuroscience lessons and activities in Jupiter. In addition, kids will have the opportunity to learn outside the dedicated classes through virtual resources, including podcasts and webcasts featuring recent neuroscience discoveries, brain games, and 360o science videos. Kids will learn about neuroscience, with lessons building from cells to neural networks to brain disorders. Attendees will graduate as Jr. Neuroscientists and tour a lab where they will meet working scientists!
